Scoring winger?????!!!!!! He's got 5 goals this year at 38!
So much for Lou when he said they wanted to get younger and didn't sign Sykora. He's just a cheap bastard! |

Does he really bring anything except for maybe an oxygen tank and wheel chair that can be shared with the rest of this aging franchise |

I guess nobody wanted anyone on the Devils. Why else has Lou been scavenging all season?
Hopefully Tallinder is bought out, Zidlicky walks, and we can look forward to maybe some new faces next season. We'll watch Clarkson walk, I think we're all certain of that, unless NJ overpays him. Hopefully we re-sign Elias.
Not our year. Without Parise, the team lacks intensity to go anywhere in the playoffs and they chose the hard way to learn it or Lou simply had no options.

What a joke and insult to the fans that have been Filling the Rock. Back to 10,000 people home games next year. Thanks Lou |

this team is increasingly hard to be a fan of. Obviously Lou is hockey savvy but I dont think he has a clue in the world towards selling a team to fans. its a shame because the fans around NJ have given them such good support this year, filling the building despite a lousy team. they do little things like cancel the st patricks day jerseys that make it seem like they are so out of touch with the fans. they continue to acquire and horde boring, short term guys upwards of 35 years of age instead of building a long term future that the fans can get behind. they wonder why they've always had problems with fans in the arena. |

Pominville went to the Wild for a rookie goalie and a minor leaguer. Coudnt we have given them Kinkaid or Wedgewood and Tedenby and or Joseffson?? |

Thing i dont get is why why did we add sullivan a seventh isnt anything but we could of signed sykora for free he already added three pieces with very similar production it just didnt make any snese to do this maybe he tried hard and struck out but he should of in my opinion to help this team going forward is add another 30 goal scorer not soneone who has scored 30 someone who can and will or get a second first round pick he didnt neither and im starting to question if he knows whats best for this franchise or if he doesnt have it anymore the league has changed plenty and maybe he cant keep up with what you need to do to succeed in todays nhl |

This is a good pick up for the Devils. Sully can't be measured by stats alone. He's a MUCH more complete player than most fans realize. He's got very good speed, gritty for his size, excellent playmaker/passer, good in his zone and is extremely poised. He also plays younger than his age. He was a large part of the Neal/Malkin line early last year and added a lot to the power play. He's never been a numbers guy, but does make everyone around him better. I would have loved getting him...even if it cost a 3rd or 4th rounder.

I was thinking the same thing. Maybe it's time to change things and what I mean is replace Lou, hate to say it, but it's time to build for the future, we already got some goods pieces in Loki, Henrique, Kovy, Zajac, Larrson, Gio, Bernier, Carter, and some other prospects like Boucher, and Merrill. Keep Elias until he retires and trade Clarkson, but we got Sullivan. Looking forward to not making the playoffs. |

At the end of the day... this team, when healthy and drinking the Kool Aid, can be a very difficult team to play against.
Can they get it togehter? Yes.
We have a similar core than last year but not replacing Parise is the biggest hole. We had the cap to take on real help.
Uncle Lou said he had many conversations but would cost the Devils a lot of the future.

Roger I understand he didnt wanna give up aby future so at that point why not try and get something for the future maybe clarky and a mid prospect for another first if the future was that important to him this is a shortened season so it doesnt hurt that bad and could get another great prospect in a great draft |

He was actually one of my favorite players when he was in Albany, so I really don't mind the trade. He is smart defensively and he makes smart plays offensively. I'm just a little disappointed that Lou didn't try to help with some scoring. I'm with a lot of fans...if we are going to retool...then do it...if we are going to make a playoff push...then do that. Instead we are just stuck in mediocrity, that's what I can't stand. Maybe a lot of teams just wanted too much for what Lou was looking for. |
